I was finally feeling better today! I went for a quick jaunt to meet up with Kiwi Deb for a a very short ride. I need to blow out the cob webs from the cold. It wasn't a long ride, in fact just a quick one. We decided to go to the Cook Street Village and either go to Moka house (this is where riders hang out) or Starbucks. We pulled up as cool as two old ladies can be and parked our bikes in front of Moka House and then walked over to Starbucks. The counter dude was pretty impressed that we were riding motorcycles, he sheepishly told us he rides a 50cc Vespa, I don't think he was expecting our response we both told him you have to start somewhere in your moto adventure. I asked him if he wears gear, he said he did which gives him extra ** in my book. He asked for a name to put on the lattes and then he said "Naw I will call you the Moto Mamas" Too funny they called out Moto Mamas when the lattes were ready. We took them outside to chill and chat on the patio. It was nice just to be outside and enjoying some fresh air. Deb and I had a quick visit and then it was time to roll, I had pizza to make & get Moto Daughter & friend off to see the Hedley concert. I snapped some pics as we were sitting on the patio.
Deb & I drinking our Moto Mama Lattes
Some sporty little numbers that pulled up, of course they do a better park job than us. Parking the bike is still a bit of a challenge. Getting better at it though now that I am getting familiar with Scarlett's weight and finding her easier to manoeuvre. All I can think is "Please don't let me dump the bike in front of all these people." You don't want to look like a bike dork. The cool factor does come into play just for the fact that I'm a mature woman who just started biking, I think thats pretty cool. On the way home I was waiting at the light and a young dude in an SUV rolled down his window and told me I have a nice bike. How cool is that? I still get a kick out of the biker wave and don't think I will ever tire of this. I actually even give a nod to folks on scoots too, because you just never know what else they may ride.
Everybody spins through Cook Street Village on the weekend.

Dear MotoMama,
Glad you have risen from your sick bed....and got out even for a short ride.
By the way, I wave at everyone on two or three wheels. It is fun to watch the reactions from some of the scooter folk who are totally confused by it. I often wonder if they are trying to figure out where I know them from.

Keith - too true about confusing the scooter folk. I once had an experience when I was scooting and a nice young fellow on a Honda 750 was in front of me at a stop light & we were both turning and he motioned for me to pull up closer and when I did he told me I had a really nice scooter! I was totally taken aback because most motorcyclists ignored scoots let alone talk to the rider. I paid him a compliment on his bike, she was a beauty I believe it was a Honda Shadow 750 Aero. After that every time he saw me on my scoot he gave me the wave. I either give a nod or a wave, I don't care what they are riding, two wheels are two wheels - I do have a little bit of a line that I don't cross and thats ebikes, because usually the operators are driving haphazardly on the side walk on all over the bike lane and riding them through cross walks, those stupid things given scooterists a bad name. So I am a little snobby when it comes to those.
Moto Mama, love it. Now you know what name to give them every time you order.
Trobairitz - It is so cute when a 20 something is stunned about a middle aged woman riding a bike. He was almost bowled over, the look of shock on his face said it all. Then he grinned the biggest grin when he came up with Moto Mamas. LOL. I think that is going to be the name of my riding group. There are a couple of us who go riding together.
Moto Mamas! What a smart kid. Glad you're back in the saddle. Any ride you can squeeze in a day is a good ride.
I think we are going to start a ladies bike club called the VI Moto Mamas. It was only a 15 minute, but it was great just the same.
Moto Mamas are awesome :) LOVE that!
Who wants to be a Moto Mama?
Funny story. Really enjoyed the photos but I'm puzzled. I never was the old ladies you talked about!
Irondad - lol I refer to myself as an old lady, according to my kiddo anything over 40 is ancient. Thanks for stopping by!
