Spring is definitely here on the Island - Woo Hoo!!!

"Warmed by the sun" Yay! that is what I am waiting for!  Today was a gorgeous spring day, it started out chilly, but it was beautiful outside.  The birds are back from their southern vacation and in the morning it is a cacophony of bird song.  I love hearing all the little birds sing and warble.  This is a definite sign that spring is here. Another sign of spring is every once in awhile you get a whiff of chicken manure that the city has used to fertilize the boulevard gardens.  We are also starting the annual Victoria flower count.  Last year there wasn't much to count because of the weather.  Just that small amount of sunshine and the trees are ready to burst into bloom.  I have to say I am so happy that there is light at the end of the winter tunnel, I think because I bike/scooter commuted all winter that it makes it feel like it has been dragging on forever.  I am not complaining really, because most of my 2 wheeling compatriots are dealing with snow and parked motorcycles and scooters.  The end of winter is in sight, just hang in there and you will be tearing up the twisties before you know it!

Japanese Cherry tree blossoms on the boulevard.

Today I met up with Kiwi_Deb for our usual ride home.  It was spectacular being in lovely sunshine.  We took our usual beach side route and stopped at the top of Beacon Hill park and enjoyed the sun & took some pictures.

Hooray for sunshine and warmer weather.

It is nice to see the cherry trees that far into bloom. Not so much here, but soon.

I love the sun! It makes life so much better and knowing that we are staying lighter longer makes the days much nicer.

Trobairitz I must confess of the Cherry tree picture, it is from last year - but they are starting to bloom, but not as brilliantly as that one yet.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that spring will hit this end of town soon too ... the ice is thinning on the lake for sure.

If I could make a living on the island I would gladly live there to enjoy an early spring. Over here the trees show some buds there and there, but no real spring to be seen. Beautiful pics, Dar. I guess I need to visit the island this year.

Gorgeous pics. I love the Japanese Cherry shot. Catching up with all you wet coasters this morning has me wishing I hadn't already committed to a Europe trip this year. Maybe 2013 will find us in the northwest!

Great Spring weather photos. Looks warm, but probably a bit chilly still.

You know it's funny, I come here to see photos of DEB, then I go to her blog to see photos of YOU, you get the whole story that way

Vstar Lady - It will come to your neck of the woods soon! Hang in there lady it will be here before you know it!

Sonja - you will definitely have to come over to the island and we can go for a ride. Why don't you come over in April or May for the Capital City Scooter Rally? Bob is coming over.

ToadMama - I would love to go to Europe!!!!!

Bob - lol we seem to do a lot of riding together. We were out yesterday between the rain drops.
