Goodbye Bob my dear friend - Bobscoot of West Coast Scooting blog

Today my heart is heavy and sad.  I found out my friend passed away while on a trip of a lifetime.  I am sad and still in disbelief at his passing.  My condolences to His wife and family.  Your husband was a kind, gentle and generous soul and will be deeply missed by all who knew him and those who followed his intrepid adventures on his blog.  I will greatly miss his friendship.
This was May 2012 when Bob brought over the Ride To Eat Scooter Crew to ride the Island with me.  Oh what a fun time we had!
Bob was known for his signature pink crocs.  I will always think of him when I see pink crocs.

Farewell dear friend, you will be greatly missed and I know you are in heaven and getting everyone up there to wear pink crocs, and riding scooters or motorcycles.  xo miss you already.

**I found this link when I was remembering my ride with Bob & the RTE scooterists.  I remember this day fondly and as Bob said in his blog post "I want to ride Saturday, again, again, and again"

Oh David, when I think of this I tear up and still can not believe it. It was funny this morning, I was thinking about him and was worrying, I actually sent a text message to his phone at 7:50am asking how the trip was going and if he was ok, then just around 9ish I got a text from Trobairitz and the read your blog post. I am still in disbelief.

I think we should all get pink crocs and wear them and post pics on our blogs of our crocs in tribute to Bob.

Dar, it still feels unreal to me. The man and his pink Crocs. Whenever I look at mine (which are yellow), I have to think of Bob. He made me buy them when I had my yellow Beemer.

Dar, I'd been worrying, too. I was in such disbelief when I heard the news. Bob was such a fixture in the blog community. We were close to meeting a couple of times, and had promised to hook up for sure in 2014. I can't imagine what Mrs Skoot has been going through. So sad.

I never met the man but still considered him a friend. He was one of the first people to post to my blog and I always looked forward to reading his posts about his adventures. He will be missed.

Dar!

I just found out! I had not looked at the blogs as I was out of town since Friday and got back and opened up to find that our beloved friend is gone!

He had contacted me back in the winter and said they would be coming very near to where I live during the first week in August and staying at a local resort hotel. I was so looking forward to meeting them.

When the actual trip started and I found out from his blogging that this was a Corvette related trip I watched and realized that they must have had a change of plans, though they still did come within a few hours of where I live when they visited the Kentucky Horse Park.

Then I watched his posts as he traveled down into Kentucky to the caverns, near my home area there. Then nothing.

I kept checking in wondering why he was not posting, but then wondered if one of them got sick or just what.

Now we all know and as I sit here in disbelief my heart goes out to his sweet wife and family.

It is unbelievable! I wonder how anyone found out what happened.

Can anyone say?

So, so sad. So unbelievable!

Deb - David Masse from Scoot Commute posted and we were all wondering the same thing and he phoned Bob or Yvonne's work and that's how he found out. It was a funny morning for me today, Bob has been in my mind for the last week it so, this morning at 7:50am I texted his phone asking if all was well, then I made my way to work and a little after 9:00am I had a message from Trobairitz telling me of his passing and then I read David's post and was shocked and stunned and feeling lost ever since.

He was on my mind all this weekend as I drove down to Louisville and passed by the Speedway and Churchill Downs, thinking of why he was not posting and worrying. I had a bad feeling but tried to shake it off.

Now we know and it is hard to grasp and so painfully sad...
