Victoria in the evening

Last night I snuck off for a short after dinner ride.  I stopped at the Inner Harbour to check out the 3 masted yacht the Athena, it is apparently up for sale with an asking price of $98 million - any of you have some spare pocket change? It is quite the boat and it served as a lovely back drop for a Celtic rockabilly band called the O'briens, they were pretty darned awesome.  I decided to stick around and have a listen and wasn't disappointed.

After that I tootled down to Ogden Point to look at the cruise ships.  It was a lovely night.

It was a lovely night for a ride, I met some nice folks taking in my fair city a nice couple from Kentucky.

Dar, you make me 'far sick' or can I say home sick having lived in Canada for eight years?
Isn't it great that summertime offers opportunities even for quick after dinner escapes?

Beautiful pictures Dar.

We have some friends that just came home from Victoria. One day we need to get up that way.

Dar,

I love your city...:-). It's been a while since we have come over on the ferry, but I enjoy it when I do.

Dar,
You've made it awfully enticing. What a great evening for a ride, a concert and beautiful fading daylight.....Summer!

Beautiful photos! I could almost hear the water lapping at the docks and the joyful sound of music drifting out over the water!

I'm from Kentucky originally...maybe my relatives? LOL

Dar, I will be returning to Victoria and I know that I will have to rent a little 50cc scoot to close the loop on my life on two wheels that began on a little scoot one sunny August Sunday back in 2008.

With a tiny bit of luck we'll be able to meet for coffee and a chat.

Gorgeous photos, as always.

Sonja - we miss you too! I think you may have to move back to Canuck land!

Trobairitz - yup you and Brad need to come up and go riding our fair island!

Patricia - when you get back to BC you should pop over for a visit.

Coop - Victoria is really pretty and the island has a lot of lovely things to see and do.

Deb - It was a purely magical night and I really enjoyed it. When I was coming back from my ride I think I was following the Kentuckians in their car, there can't be too many people visiting with Kentucky plates on their cars. They were looking for the Harley dealer for pins and shirts.

David - Let me know when you are planning a visit, I would love to go riding! We could possibly even just get a day or two of insurance for my vino if we still have it and haven't sold it.

Pam - Thanks! I was pretty pleased with my little iphone pics. I have given up roaming with a camera, just too many devices in my pockets or tank bag.
