Bike blessing

Today I braved the rain and attended a bike blessing by the chaplain at CFB Esquimalt. It was blustery and raining, not many ventured out and there were only about six motorcyclists.

Here is the blessing and I extend it to all on two wheels. Ride safe my friends!

I was out in the rain too but your blessing was too far for me

for a while it was really coming down. I came back on the freeway doing about 120 and it felt great

I was thinking of you and all my riding friends when I was at the bike blessing, so you were there! I went for a 3 hour ride yesterday and it was great even when it started teeming down rain. I was out a little today, but feel like I am getting a cold so decided to come in and get warmed up. I can hardly wait for some really nice weather.

Well.....I'm one of the faithful, inspired by those of you actually out there practicing. Keep the faith, safely!

I have heard that those military chaplains are terrific people and this just proves it again. What a nice idea for a service. I'm curious as to how this idea this came about...

Suzu - I have added your lovely blog to my blog roll and look forward to reading about your adventures!

I started a women's motorcycle riding group here in Victoria and a lot of the gals are in the military or their spouses are. I was invited to the bike blessing on the base as part of the riding community. It was pretty awesome and the chaplain was really quite chill. What was really nice was another chaplain from the church located on the base also popped by to add his blessing and it was really nice to feel that sense of community. Hopefully they will have it again next year and I will go.

Thank you Dar, that is lovely ... do you mind if I share that?

Brenda feel free to share! It is perfectly fine by me and I think any little bit of blessing or good luck should be happily passed forward! Blessing to you and your riding buddies!
