Tofino vacation 2013

We are in our recharge place, camping in Tofino. I left the bike at home and am content being a passenger in the Moho.  The road is awesome and motorcycle worthy and it is on my motorcycle 'to ride' list.
As is typical of Tofino in August it's foggy.  Islanders dub it Fogust.  So I am sitting by the fire sipping a lovely glass of port and enjoying the company of my family.

Pupzilla experienced her first sandy beach walk and is happily snoozing on my lap now.

You haven't done the road to Tofino on a bike yet? It's about high time. It's one of the most beautiful roads I know.

I love the beach pics, can't get enough of them. A wonderful place to recharge. We have been there almost every year while in Canada... ah those memories.

Looks like an incredible place I knew nothing about. Where oh where did Pupzilla get its name?? ;)

Like Coop said, I'm not familiar, but it looks like a place I'm going to get familiar with... Excellent!

Can you really call it camping if you are hooked up to the interweb and blogging?

Just teasing you. :-) Have a great vacation and I hope that fog lifts.

Do you ever try your hand at surfing in Tofino? It used to be the surfing mecca but I don't know if it still is.

Sonja we have been coming here for about 23 years and never get bored with it. Haven't done the bike yet because we're always camping. Some day soon for a weekend we're going to do it.

Coop - Vancouver Island is full of twisties! Awesome motorcycle roads and the scenery is beautiful.

Pupzilla is the nickname for my pooch she is pretty spoiled.

Lucky - it's pretty amazing here the twisties, the fresh seafood, the beaches, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, whale watching, fishing and kite flying. It is pretty awesome.

Trobairitz - lol we don't have cable - my kiddo is going through withdrawal, Our camping style has changed over years from a 2 man tent, then a Westfalia and now a fully contained motorhome with queensize bed in an actual bedroom & full bathroom - yup that's how I camp now.

I haven't surfed, kayaked quite a few times. My hobby here is eating seafood and walking on the beach.

Camping is supposed to be sitting on the ground, in the rain, eating cold food (since it's too wet for a fire and the stove doesn't work) wondering what happened to the tent poles not sitting on a chair drinking port while surfing the web.

Have fun! It looks like a beautiful place.

What a beautiful spot! I am itching to ride up to your part of the world. Maybe, fingers crossed, next summer (and perhaps my daughter will be riding her own)! Enjoy the rest of your time, there!

I'm with Trobairitz in regard to camping. I haven't owned a fully loaded moto home yet, but I do aspire to have one someday and camp in style. But for now, it will have to be the tent should I ever do that again. Have fun, girl!!

I sort of like being in a Tent, sort of minimalist but I like to have WiFi and a power outlet, unless it is too hot or raining, then I want to come into your motorhome.

I notice that many RV places only have hookups and no facilities running water) for those in tents.

That looks like an awesome place to just go and retreat from daily concerns. Beautiful!

I chuckled when I saw that cute little face on "Pupzilla"! She is SO unique looking. She reminds me of one of those gremlins from the movie. Aren't dogs a joy?! LOL

I'm with you on the camping thing. If I am going on a bicycle or scooter tour it would be ok for a night at a time. But for a longer foray into a natural area, I like your idea. A good, DRY, bug free, comfortable night's sleep is more important to me than food at my junction in life!

Enjoy!
