I've only had one or two spam comments slip through without the verification. So far Blogger has been doing a good job at catching them and holding them in the spam folder. You must just have a catchy name or something.
I get spam on older posts so the setting where you moderate all comments on posts more than a couple of weeks seems to work well. I also don't have word verification on as well. I just had a whole slew of them come through on a post from last Spring. It was like some folks were attempting to use blog comments as a method of anonymous communication as most blog owners don't bother looking for comments on older posts.
Dar:do what Richard says. Spam posts are never current, always from older ones, that's what I have noticed toobobRiding the Wet CoastMy Flickr // My YouTube
Ah, "spam"! My mom used to fry it up in the iron skillet and serve it with eggs at breakfast...Oh, wait, not THAT kind of spam!Sorry for your spam problems, Princess...Hope all is well otherwise! :-)
I know it's getting harder and harder to prove you are not a robot... I guess it's worth it in the end.
