Ice cream summer time tradition

Victoria's Ice cream tradition - Beacon Drive In

The Beacon Drive-in is an old fashioned drive-in restaurant across from Beacon Hill Park.  Summer has finally arrived in Victoria and we decided to hop on the bikes and go for ice cream.  Finding parking around the Beacon can be a little tricky at times, but when you travel by motorcycle or scooter there is always a little 'squish-in' space.  We actually lucked out and parked in the lot - *NOTE to self avoid parking in the lot because it is tight and squishy and car drivers can't seem to manoeuvre around in the space.

One lady came perilously close to bumping into our moto babies and Motorcycle Man was giving her the hairy eyeball.  We met a fellow on a nice green and white Bonnie and of course we chatted about his bike for a bit.  He loves his Bonnie, but hates the gas mileage. If your in Victoria pop by the Beacon for ice cream it is delicious!

Very popular place
on a beautiful summer evening.

Ice cream on a hot day - a good excuse for a ride.

Glad all the Motos are up and running. I bet that makes you a happy moto mama.

Richard - I am jubilant! I am happy beyond words! How is your trip going?

Bob - Yup we are both up & running and happily motoing along. I almost went o Dq after work today, but decided I needed to nix the idea & be healthy. I love strawberry ice cream, it's one of my faves.

Trobairitz - I am a very happy moto mama! Riding is heavenly particularly when it's sunny & gorgeous.

Yay for ice cream! Isn't it cool how every area has its favorite ice cream shop? If bars are local watering holes, I wonder what ice cream shops are? Glad to see you out and about again.

"You scream, I scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!"

Nummy!

What a cute little ice cream shop! And you guys on your bikes, just enjoying a beautiful evening...nice!

"Hairy eyeball"? LOL I hear that one all the time from my "half Canadian" friend, but before her I never heard it before. It always cracks me up! Is that a Canadian expression or something? LOL

I'll have a peach cone, please!

What a lovely little ice cream shop. Too bad there is dairy involved. But me, the vegan apprentice, is entitled to mistakes ;-)

Glad to see you're mobile again! Hello, Scarlett.

Brenda - it is a cool little, place to go, but my favorite Icecream is 5 hours away at Chocolate Tofino - homemade gelato OMG!!!!! White chocolate raspberry.

Toadmama - it feels awesome together back to riding on Scarlet. I was definitely missing her! I think Icecream places are heaven on earth. To hell with beer, give me a good scoop of strawberry Icecream & I'm blissfully happy.

Deb - Oh you made me laugh so hard I snorted when reading this at work this morning. I have no idea where hairy eyeball expression came from, but lots of folks say it here in Victoria. We Canucks are a strange breed. Lol! Glad to see you loving 'Squirt' and getting out in that beautiful diva scooter!

Sonja - cant you get vegan Icecream? I think you are allowed to slip every once in awhile, I tried going vegan way back and made it for a few months and then started craving steak, after that it was all done. Every once in awhile I get on an all veggie kick.

Oh. Yum! We don't stop nearly often enough for ice cream. Though my waistline definitely doesn't need it. :)

We did think about doing a DQ tour once. Stop at each one...maybe you could do something like that too? Hehe
