The Return trip home - blog challenge

The return journey home varies for me a bit, it all depends on what I feel like at the end of the day, sometimes I take the down & dirty straight home route or if I really want to decompress from a stressful day at the office and the weather is nice I usually take the scenic beach drive along the Dallas Road waterfront and back through downtown Victoria past the Legislature & Government street home. Today was a scenic tootle route, the weather was off, but it was a nice ride just the same today. Blogger was giving me nothing but grief when I tried to post the return trip pics.

Leaving the scooter lair at the end of the day.

Very cool Dar. Parts of that route were the same streets I took back in 2008 when I took my first ever scooter ride. I rented the scooter from a kiosk right across the street from the Empress. My first stop was for lunch at Barb's fish and chips, then I just followed whatever the coast road is as far as I could go. It was such a thrill that I just knew it would eventually become a fixture in my daily life.

Oh, I love that stretch of road. We have been there a few times.

We even thought of moving there... if there would have been half decent jobs that could pay the bills.

Wonderful, Dar. And definitely scooter territory.

Beautiful ride, Dar! Are those people para-sailing out on the bay? And those big ferry boats-I've seen them in movies-how cool! Would love to ride one with the scooter/biker gang! You have a beautiful seaside ride home...from your "lair"! LOL

David - I saw some of the rental scooters zipping around today. Unfortunately the dude almost piled up at light. #Ouch! Once you get a taste of life on 2 wheels driving a car just seems so boring.

Sonja - the roads are definitely scooter worthy and it is never boring. As for paying the bills it's a struggle at times, a buck doesn't go as far as it used too.

Deb - Yup those are parasailors. It is wonderful watching the, do it. I couldn't resist pulling over & snapping some pics. The boats are actually cruise ships, we have quite a cruise ship season here. I would love to have you in my scooter gang! Lol not sure why I called it the scooter lair, but it definitely seem lair-ish particularly on a cold dark windy rainy day. Vixen almost seems to shiver after coming in from the cold.

I loved "scooter lair"! And that really is a pretty drive. I can see how that would help with the decompression.

Great route home. You get to see some waterfront and historic building. Can't complain about that.

I am envious of your Lack of traffic. I have to navigate 25 kms each way on my commute. 45 min in the morning, but an hour to get home. I have 3 routes, 2 of which involve highway travel.

Pam - I am very lucky I live where I do, even in the greyest of days it's quite pretty.

ToadMama - riding chills me right out and gives me some true alone time and looking at the ocean is wonderful. Love the scooter lair - next week it is going to be the moto lair because I'm my bike to work. YAY

Trobairitz - The island is beautiful and the only time I feel grumpy is when I am dealing with sick bike issues. Both bikes are fixed now,YAY!! So the hubs and I can go riding.

Bob - honestly I don't know how you do it everyday, it think I would find it stressful.

Geoff - it is a beautiful ride I never get tired of it.
