Capital City Scooter Rally 2012 - Part 1 - Bob & The Vancouver Scooter Crew

Today was an awesome day!  I was out all day with scooter peeps.  Motorcycle Man kindly let me ride Monster for the day and I met up with Bob and his troop of Vancouver Scooter Club friends.  It was awesome.  They were riding beautiful maxi scoots and I have to say I would seriously consider buying one of these in the future when I want to change it up.  We rode out West Saanich road and chased some twisties, then out to the West Shore and rode down to Esquimalt Lagoon.  After  our ride the fellas were feeling a wee bit peckish so we stopped at A&W for burgers and rootbeer.  I had a great time with Bob and the boys.  At one point one of them called me the "Mistress Goddess" gotta love that!  We had a lovely chinese food dinner and then went on another more leisurely evening ride and finished it off at Tim Horton's.  Its all about food!  Ride to eat!  When it came time to say goodbye and call it a night, we were all sad and wanted the day to continue.  Sun, friends, 2 wheels and twisties - who could ask for anything more?!

Me and the boys at Esquimalt Lagoon.

                                                         Fabulous dinner

Evening ride along Beach Drive.  Tonight as I was leading the group and looking in mirrors it was a pretty awesome sight seeing 14 scooter headlights following behind you.  The group rode beautifully and it was a pleasure sharing the road with them!

Looks like you all had a wondeful day of it! Wished I could have joined in!

Hmmm..is this a sign that the "scootin'" side of you is emerging again?

Ooooh, what a great day.

I am glad that Bobskoot was able to get over there for the event again and that you could ride together. Good times.

Looks like you had a great day with a great group of riders.
Wouldn't a mistress goddess amongst scooters make you Mistress Scooterpie? Oooooh, Princess has a dark side.

Isn't it great you have a 'spare' bike for such occasion? Looks like all of you had a blast. I like the second to last group picture the best.

Deb - I don't think my scooter roots will ever entirely disappear. I think I am going to squirrel away some money and look for a 250cc or higher scoot for in city commuting. I love riding my motorbike, it is different from my scoot, I enjoy shifting. You and your scoot would have fit right in! I am going to do up another post and there is a scoot in there that I took a picture which I am sure you will get a chuckle from.

Shy - it was awesome! The guys were so nice and I was pretty impressed with their scoots. They are really automatic motorbikes when you get down to it. Beautiful machines.

Trobairitz - it was a beauty of a day, sunny, warm and great company. We were quite a sight to behold a cruiser leading a pack of scoots with a Vsrtrom riding sweep.

Troubadour - I like that Mistress Scooterpie. Lol. Mistress of Mayhem perhaps? Lol.

Sonja - I love my hubby for him letting me ride his bike all week. I left at 11:00am and didn't come home until almost 10:00pm. It was a fabulous day and I didn't want it to end.

What a great day....Days like this are why we ride.

Rog - absolutely and for me whether it's scooter or bike it just has to be 2 wheels and I am happy.

I think the clouds were crying because our journey was ending. It didn't start raining until we landed on the "Mainland", then it turned torential on the highway.

Thank you for the most delightful and memorable Saturday, and also for leading the Pack. It was a great day, one that I wished, would never end.

Wow Dar looks like you had a great day!! I'm still too new at riding the bike to miss the scooter yet .. but after seeing those pics and the great time you had .. I almost want to get another one!!

Bob - it finally started raining here around 9:40 tonight & it's cold. I am so glad the weather held yesterday, it was perfect! I was sad to see it end as well. Too bad you were caught in torrential rain, it makes riding tedious and a bit of a chore at times. I didn't touch the bike at all today, I was worn out - lol! Next year maybe we could ride up island & RTE! Hmmm need to plan......

Brenda - I haven't ridden my scooter since February, but I think I may just relicense her for work. They are deinitely fun. The amazing thing with the maxi scoots is they really and truly are automatic motorbikes with more features & storage capabilities. They had absolutely no trouble keeping up with a 750cc motorcycle and I have to say I think are way more manoueverable in heavy in-city traffic. I think at some point in the future I will be wanting one of the maxi scoots in my garage. It was an amazing weekend full of fun, new friends and hanging out with a good friend. Yup I am one happy moto diva.

Yep, you gotta love a hsband who is man enough to let his wife ride his bike to a rally where she'll spend hours and hours being chased by a bunch of other men! Looks like a great time.

What Toadmama wrote had me laughing! I'm glad the day was great with the weather cooperating. What a great day!

ToadMama - OMG HYSTERICAL! Yup that's my man! He knows my heart is his forevah! The best part is I was riding the bike he used to pick me up for dates on 29 years ago. My hubs is the best!

Beemergirl - It's raining men hallelujah! It's raining men! Now is I was 20 years younger it would ave been exciting to have 12 dudes following me. I was feeling more maternal or at least very mature older sister-ish......
