Pictures do say a 1,000 things......

This pretty much says it all!

I passed my motorcycle road test and am now a fully legal class 6 motorcyclist!  I am extremely happy and feel relieved that all of the testing is over.  It has been a very long 3 weeks and I really have to thank Motorcycle Man and Motorcycle Daughter.  You guys have been wonderful and I thank you for putting up with my test anxiety and celebrating the highs and encouraging me through the lows.  I seriously could not have done this without you both.  To all my friends who have been rooting for me - I humbly thank you for your faith in me!

I went for a celebratory ride after I dropped the course bike off and picked up Lucy.  We did one of my favorite scooter treks down West Saanich Road into the countryside.   Below are pictures from Observatory Hill.  The sun was gorgeous and You could see forever.  I was lucky it was clear enough to see majestic Mount Baker.  We zipped back over the highway  - BECAUSE I CAN NOW!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! You must feel proud. I remember my road-test vividly even though it was 14 years ago. There's a lot of fun riding ahead of you!

Shybiker - I do feel proud, it has been a long haul and I am relieved it is all done and I can enjoy riding.

Gorgeous picture! Awesome weather, pretty landscape, a class 6 license in the pocket and a bike... what's not to love.

I love the pictures especially the last one. I think that I'm addicted to dark blue skies. Now that you have your license, there's that whole "go to work" thing that seems to get in the way of riding...

Congratulations!
Richard

Sonja - you have completely summed up my feelings. It looks like we are supposed to have gorgeous weather Sunday, time for a family ride!

Richard - I have felt the work getting in way feeling with the scooter, but now it is intensified. I have caught myself staring out the window daydreaming of twisties. I've got the bike bug really bad - lol. I love the sky here on a sunny day. I love going up to observatory and looking out over the island. The people who work there were sitting out on the balcony eating their lunch, I wish I had such stunning views from my office.

Now you can enjoy your ride, the stress is gone. I notice you have more time to stop for photos instead of practicing. I can forsee more "road time" in your future. That last photo of the church, West Saanich Road sort of coming down a hill on the West side. I always wanted to stop for a photo but turned the throttle instead.

Great pictures Dar. Enjoy this sunshine while it lasts. I am sure we'll be in the rainy season before long.

And congrats again on the Class 6.

Keith - I am soooo glad it is over too. Each step of the process had benchmark standards & tests that we had to achieve. The 4 day Novice course had a written test as well as the skills test. The 2 day traffic course was all practical with a critical eye being given to our skills and where we should be by this point, it culminated in a lot of solo style rides and the instructor riding behind us as if it was our road test. Relief is all I can feel and I am riding for pleasure now, not pressure!

Bob - I love the little country churches on West Saanich, there is another one I love to stop at as well. But the church in my picture has beautiful Brentwood Bay un the background. Have you ever ridden up to the observatory? The views are spectacular! I too see a lot of picture taking in my future. I was stopped this morning and taking pics on Dallas road, when I bent over to get the camera out (I still had the helmet & glasses on) there was a cold went nose and slurpy tongue on my cheek - no it wasn't a perv, it was a big old rotweiler named Lily, she thought I had dog treats. Too funny - I kind of wish I had a doggis cookie to give her.

Trobairitz - I am totally dreading the rainy season. I think though I would prefer the rain to snow. My little canon takes excellent pictures.

David - Thanks! I can't say it enough I am so relieved it's over and I am proud of what I accomplished. It is so funny what happens in the Spanish of 10 months. I never thought I would be riding a motorcycle. Once I did the learners and plunked down $868 smackers I knew I had to pass and get my licence. Glad you liked my post and pictures.

I can hardly wait until Motorcycle man and I go for a good long ride and he will have to follow me!
