750 cc here I come!

Tonight Motorcycle Man was off early and I had Lucy out on the street warmed & ready to go. We did some stopping & starting on a hill practice & then a short jaunt by the water. On the final leg of the ride he ACTUALLY LET ME RIDE HIS 750 MAGNA!! Holy moly it is a nice ride, she sits really comfortably and I know she is going to be my next bike. The throttle is twice as responsive than Lucy's and is a completely different ride. Nice and smooth, its like driving a barcolounger. Seroiusly I never knew I would like riding this much. 9 months ago I felt daunted by the prospect of riding a 50cc scooter. Fast forward to today and I am in total bliss with my motorcycling experiences so far. I have a very healthy respect of what cc's bring to the table and that I still need to gain experience and add more defensive driving skills to my aresenal and happily lots of practice ;) (any excuse to go for a ride)

Holy, Moly . . . up to 750cc already ! Motorcycle man obviously wants a new(er) bike. I find that once you have enough power you can go anywhere. I don't think you would even ride a 125cc scooter.

the turning point for me was that I was able to ride on any road that I would drive in my car. with the smaller engine it is always about compromises, taking slower routes, or going the longer way to avoid the speeds. of course you can still do that with the 750, but it would be by choice, and not necessity.

happy motorcycling . . .

Hey Bob!

I think you are right, I think there is no going back now. I think I would find a 125 too boring now. I think if I buy anything it might be a vintage motorcycle like the 305 Honda Hawke, or even the 150 Benly. You get a taste of more cc's and you realize what you have been missing and the possibilities of where you can go.

I dearly love my scoot and she has opened a whole world to me that I only had hints of when I was on the back. My only regret is I waited so long to give it a try. I tried scooting in the mid 80's and I didn't get any joy from it, now though it s an entirely new world.

I am so loving being a Moto diva!

Cheers!

Lured in by more CC's. Next thing you know we'll be hearing about the new Gold Wing or Triumph Rocket III. Then you may need to change the name of the blog. ;-)

Oh boy, now you've done it, you're addicted. I've owned two V45s, they are a comfortable bike, easy to ride and that V4 motor is so smooth.
So where are the pics of Motorcycle Man on Lucy?

Good luck this weekend. I know you will have a lot of fun.

Yes, have fun and take pictures....

Thank you guys! Motorcycle Man is a little camera shy! The last couple of outings I have left the camera at home. I will definitely bring it this weekend.

Richard - I think I have been bitten by the cc bug, I'm going to take it slow though.

Troubadour - his bike rides like a very comfortable car, I think I have secretly always wanted to own it! I love the sound it makes when it's running, it purrs & it's very smooth. I could be happy forever on that bike. I do love Lucy though.

Trobairitz - I will do my best & I feel like a kid on Christmas morning I can hardly wait!

You "hit the nail on the head" about more ability to go where you want now on your bike! I know that for me, as I consider a bigger machine, that I am feeling the frustration of the limitations. I am not riding as much because I am feeling so constrained! ROCK ON, Diva! You are an inspiration!

Hey, how about a pic of the Magna? What color is it?

Dar said...

Hey Deb! Good to see you here! The Magna is candy maroon. There is a picture in my blog post Motorcycle Euphoria. Motorcycle Man is sitting on it

Well off to school!

Dar, you definitely got the bug! Be safe and all the best for you new two-wheeled endeavors. But don't forget that little scoot that got you there ;-)

Sonja - I am so blissfully happy right now. I love my scoot, but think I have turned a huge corner in my Moto adventures. My instructor was very happy with my effort and told me I won't have a problem getting my full license, he also said I was ahead of my classmates - that is thanks to Vixen. I was out the door at 7:20 and didn't get home until 5:30. It was an amazing day!
